Mariano Capellino, CEO and co-founder of INMSA was an active participant in SIMA. As part of his agenda, he attended the INVESTMENT FORUM ON SPANISH REAL ESTATE MARKET 2016 hosting more than 400 professionals of the 150 largest operators of the financial- real estate sector which operate in or are interested in the Spanish market, such as investment funds, law firms specialized in real estate, developers, banks and funds management companies, among which IMSA was present.

One of the most important speakers was Manuel Enrich, Sareb Director (Banco Malo), an entity with assets worth over 50 billion euros and which will soon be invited by INMSA to visit our country and give a presentation about Spain potential.

Furthermore, the Conferencia Inmobiliaria Madrid 2016 (2016 Real Estate Conference in Madrid) took place, which become a space for discussion of the most important challenges of the sector in the short term: industrialization, lean construction, urban regeneration, new financing models and improvement in the urban management processes.

The International Real Estate Exhibition in Madrid (SIMA) has confirmed once again that some recovery and optimism is being experienced in the sector. According to the opinion of the exhibitors, the housing demand’s recovery is still rising.

As informed to the media by Eloy Bohúa, Managing Director of SIMA: “This SIMA edition has consolidated some of the tendencies that we pointed out just one year ago: that purchaser´s interest has come to stay, that young people demanding their first house are increasingly becoming protagonists in the fair, that coastline housing offers are again attracting the small investor and that families not significantly affected by the crisis are taking advantage of price adjustments to change their houses to bigger ones which, in turn,  is helping revitalize the activity of the sector”

As confirmed just one year ago, the report on the New Profile of property buyers prepared by SIMA and ST Sociedad de Tasación, the fact that a buyer who has not been excessively affected by the crisis is rejoining the housing market would largely explain the visitors “with clearer ideas” at the exhibition. The visitor is a buyer with financial capacity who prefers to acquire off-plan property and then sell its current house under better conditions. It is a buyer who knows exactly the product he is looking for, with high purchasing power and who considers price suitable, as commented by exhibitors.

It appears that Spain is becoming the new real estate star worldwide.
